Dominican Republic Service Trip 2024

From November 22-November 29, 2024, I traveled to the Dominican Republic as a member of the Watkinson service team. Over Thanksgiving week, we work alongside the Good Samaritan Hospital to help run pop-up medical clinics and construction projects on the bateys, which are sugarcane plantations where undocumented Haitians live and work. Haitians on the bateys face extreme poverty, starvation, and disease, and are unable to leave because of their lack of citizenship.​
